If you are talking about a rifle licence, I wouldn’t be sure. It’s not the hardest thing to get a rifle as you can use it for game hunting or club shooting.

I’m not sure what is required to own one of those knifes, outside of QLD. This is much different but I have a mate who is a Police officer, as we all know they carry pistols for work (glock 9mm here in tassie), but he has had to wait over a year to get his “club” pistol licence so he can go out a shoot targets for fun. He still hasn’t got it, they are so tight with them. Even though he is given a pistol to carry around in public, he still hasn’t been granted a licence to use one at a club whilst he is not working. It’s a funny world.

Edit: The point where it says you need to have a “Prohibited Weapons Permit” would make me think that you wouldn’t be able to get one with a normal weapon licence.

Recall when I did my gun license Dan that knives came under a special category that was effing hard to get.
