BGn COD4 POTW/POTM

For a while now, we have been thinking of running some kind of an event or comp for COD4.

For those that have known me for years, and remember the old DFNCL “Player of the Week and Player of the Month” events then you will already be familiar with the style of event - for those that may not have a clue what it is… .keep reading.

Basics run down:

• POTW (Player of the WEEK) is held one night a week
• Registered players enter a closed server
• Top 5 players are recorded and qualify for the Player of the Month event (for the prize on offer)
• After the 4th weekly event, and the last set of 5 names are recorded, we are left with the Top 20.
• they then enter the server - 1 map, winner is the winner and takes the prize.

Prize on offer is:

[SIZE=4]$200.00 of credit at [COLOR=#848484]PC Maniacs[/COLOR][/SIZE] + A Trophy to stick on your desk!

Registrations are not officially open, but will be in about a weeks time where entrants must be registered forum members to be able to complete the form.
There is no enrty fee, its open to anyone that has a forum membership and is prepared to give contact details in the event of winning. No details = No prize.
We are also considering that users must be in TeamSpeak while in the game (even if you don’t talk). It used to work well in the past, so im sure it wouldn’t be much of a problem as the idea is to also meet some of the players and help the general community grow.

This post is to get interaction and interest from all players willing to participate and also assist/discuss the settings that will determine the set up for the Comp.

The basic server set up will be:

• 1 map - Need input on what map (i will create a poll after some discussion)
• Time limit will be 20 mins (unless there are any major objections) So no 1st to “x” score – it will go down to the wire!
• UAV / Air / Chopper will be OFF.

Weapons and Perks:

Initially we had planned to simply ‘Allow All’ weapons and perks - given that this would create a very equal playing field by allowing all participants to set them selves up for the best chance to make the top 5.

I would like everyone to discuss and pros or cons to allowed weapons and perks.
As most of you know, almost every setting can be adjusted.

Event is played and finished.

22 signup/attendees.
Was a good bash … Nightfall picked up the prize.

Bit of a write up on best for those interested.

Was hoping OE would show in force as we get a free server off Pointy but such is life.
