There was a way of doing it on XP, but it also changed the window colour. There may be some programs out there that may do it but I am unaware of them.

You could always give something like http://rocketdock.com/ a go for a different look.

Neato.

I don’t mind a few choice icons on the desktop. Nice to have something uncluttered but I don’t get the concept of not having a single icon on the screen.
